David and Louise, It was such a blessing to be able to both end and begin a chapter in your ministry of encouraging and bringing refreshment and res to Pastors and their spouses. You are both precious people and sensitive to the unique needs of those in ministry. Thank you for your calling and passion. No doubt you will continue to provide a haven for those in the trenches of ministry in the local church. Giving out is what pastors do. Often, pastors don't have bondaries to keep them from being burned out, empty, and discouraged. I know I didn't. At Deer Ridge I found a place that is committed to pastors not doing, but receiving. For us, it was a place to be quiet and to listen. It was a place to rest. It was a place to be together. It was a place to read, walk, sit, be still, and laugh. David and Louise are amazing people. Their love for us was so genuine. They served us, encouraged us and prayed for us. I can't say, "Thank you," enough to them and all the partners of Deer Ridge that make it possible! The setting was beautiful, the food exceptional, and the accommodations oh so comfortable! Dear Dave & Louise, Michelle & I can not thank you and the supporters of Deer Rdige Ministries enough. We came very tired and discouraged. We had been trusting the Lord through soem very difficult times in our church and financially. You allowed us to rest, cry, laugh and above all to continue trusting. Although we returned to some of difficulties, we left we a renewed hope and trust the Lord would continue to see us through. This was our 3rd retreat since going into ministry and our 2nd with Deer Ridge. We continue to recommend this ministry to every pastor who will listen. Becasue we know, they will receive the same loving ministry and care from the Lord and Dave & Louise as we have. Rich Blessings!

Dear Louise and David, Thank you so very much for the wonderful retreat this past week! Everything about it was memorable. The accomodations were phenomenal. The meals were delicious and the table decorations and settings were great. The opportunity to be refreshed spiritually through the retreat study was so good. The fellowship with you and the other retreat participants was a delight. Thank you for your ministry to me! What a blessing it all was! David & Louise, Thank you so much for your service to the kingdom of God by serving His servants. I have only been in ministry for 4 years and prior to that I was in the military & business world for 20. I always remember thinking that the ministry seemed like a pretty cool gig. Little did I know that it is a totally consuming calling on your life that can drain you emotionally, physically, and spiritually beyond comprehension. Having planted a church, I find myself juggling more balls than I ever thought possible and Lesley still is overwhelmed with trying to find her niche. The time that we spend with you was like passing through an Oasis. You know it's temporary, but it is wonderful while you're there and oh so necessary. The two of you are truly gifted to lead this ministry and I highly encourage other ministry leaders to allow themselves the grace of lingering in a place where they can meet with God and be ministered to. It will be time well spent and then some.

Thank God for Dave & Louise and the financial supporters of Deer Ridge. (And Louise's mom for helping with the cooking!) We were tired and beaten up by circumstances, and Deer Ridge gave us an opportunity to rest and to begin being renewed by the workings of God. The facilities are beautiful. The food was amazing. The library of books available is wonderful. The retreat path we followed was a blessing. Dave and Louise themselves offered the perfect balance of caring and good humor. Plus, we loved the other pastors and spouses we were on the retreat with. I can't recommend Deer Ridge highly enough!

My wife and I are so appreciative of the amazing four days we spent at Highpoint. We've been walking through a very difficult time in our church for the past two years. Truely, this was an oasis for us. We received rest. We slept; we relaxed. We were able to stop the crazy pace of ministry. We also, through the marriage enrichment path, felt renewed in our marriage. The readings, questions, and just having quality time together meant so much to us. The facilities and grounds are very comfortable and give you space to be alone or to enjoy outdoor activities. David and Louise were so gracious and supportive. Their care for us was genuine. They served us as though we were royalty. Their prayers for us were heart-felt. We are planning to go again in the future. We invite you to get away and be refreshed and renewed!

Oh my, did we enjoy ourselves at your beautiful retreat center. God blessed us to meet some wounderful sisters and brothers in the Gospel. We learned alot being around seasoned pastors. Everyone was such a great encouragement to us. We learned a new game lol lol. Now we are showing everyone we know. We miss the Deckers, they hold a special place in our heart. We advise all Pastors and there wives to take the time out to take a spiritual retreat. The meals were excellent. Every meal was served with a smile and were greated with such warmth.
